Ala'a Mohammad Ibrahim Al Amiry

Alaa Al Amiry is a Member of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (MFNMRCSI). An award-winning educator and researcher, Al Amiry holds an MS degree in Emergency Health Services (EHS) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, and a second Master's degree (MBA with merit) from Strathclyde Business School, UK. With 19 years of experience across both healthcare (as a critical care nurse and paramedic) and academic sectors, Al Amiry has stationed in various countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and the UAE, giving her a strong international-exposure. She has co-chaired strategic committees at the university, among other responsibilities, and developed essential soft skills for excellence. Prior to an administrative restructuring, she served as the Head of Department at the Unit of General Studies. In 2023, she was recognized with the "Best Teacher Award" at Ajman University (AU), and to enrich her research interest, she has recently became a certified contributor to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) international project. Al Amiry is also a certified instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) since 2021. She maintains strong ties with the healthcare industry by providing BLS training to healthcare providers through Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital's AHA International Training Center (ITC) in Umm Al Quwain. As a globally recognized not-for-profit organization, the AHA mandates the BLS course for all healthcare workers to be completed every two years.
